To derive maximum benefit from the the type of programme on offer, we expect the officers selected to make more than a casual commitment; it is a holistic, intensive, demanding course that will pay dividends for the participant and his or her agency for a lifetime.
CONTEMPORARY ISSUES IN POLICE ADMINISTRATION
Security architecture has changed in recent years and continues to evolve, and so too must police administration and leadership. Police executives and the agencies and personnel they lead now contend with new threats, new technologies, and new communities, all of which create new challenges and opportunities for policing. Experience alone can no longer top the requirements to meet this new reality. New thinking patterns based on research, new definition of communities and collaborative initiatives driven by technology are some of the areas of concentration that will take the centre stage during the course of study at the National Institute of Police Studies.
Leadership Decision Making and Decision Science, Creating an Exemplary Policing Organization, Teams in Organizations, Systems Thinking, Leading During Crisis, Finance, Women in Leadership, Creating a Culture of Accountability, Creating and Maintaining the High Reliability Organization, Time Evaluation/Self Evaluation, Digital Policing, Influence Principle, Application of Drucker Principles, Relationships with the Media, and Response to Major/Critical Incidents are some of the topic areas that will be presented.
This programme is offered in a continuous 7-week session delivered entirely on campus, with a three-day break midway. It is designed to strengthen your leadership gaps and expand your ability to drive organizational change, performance, and growth.
You will emerge from this life-altering programme transformed; better able to tackle your organization’s toughest strategic challenges, lead with greater confidence, inspire performance at all levels—and contribute more value as a member of your organization’s senior leadership.
Research Design and Data Collection
